Individual Narrative Therapy
Individual narrative therapy is a professional psychological accompaniment that can take place both in the usual context of the person seeking help, which would be home-based psychological care, and outside of it, that is, in the psychologist’s own office.
BENEFITS OF INDIVIDUAL NARRATIVE THERAPY
Narrative psychologists approach their work with respect and a non-blaming perspective that places the individuals seeking help as experts in their own lives, within the framework of intimacy and security. Through collaborative dialogue between the psychologist and the individual seeking help, various techniques are employed, such as externalizing the problem, reauthoring conversations, conversations about exceptional achievements, remembrance, and more. These techniques allow problems to take on new meaning through the narrative of one’s life story.
“SCIENTISTS SAY WE ARE MADE OF ATOMS, BUT A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME WE ARE MADE OF STORIES.”
Eduardo Galeano
