Hello, I'm Darío García Rodríguez
Psychologist and director of La Palma Psychology. I support individuals, families, and communities from a narrative, personal, and deeply human perspective.
Over time, I’ve learned that we don’t always need quick answers. Sometimes, what we need most is a place to breathe, process our experiences, and listen to ourselves again without so much noise around us. That’s why I see psychology as a meeting place: a space where every story can be received with respect, sensitivity, and care.
My approach
My approach is deeply rooted in narrative therapy, creativity, and the conviction that words can pave the way. I’m interested in listening beyond the problem, getting closer to each person’s story, their relationships, their values, and those parts of themselves that are sometimes hidden beneath fear, exhaustion, or pressure.
My experience
I am a member of AETEN, the Spanish Association of Narrative Therapy, a membership that perfectly represents how I understand this profession: with respect for lived experience, attention to language, and confidence in people’s ability to rebuild their relationship with their own history.
I have lived and worked between Spain and the United Kingdom, and this journey has allowed me to broaden my perspective, inhabit different contexts and continue learning that each person is inseparable from their history, their connections and the world around them.
In addition to clinical practice, I participate in training, reflection and meeting spaces linked to Narrative Therapy and Community Psychology, because I continue to believe that mental health is not built only on the individual, but also in the way we relate to each other, name each other and give each other space.
Some interesting facts about me
- En mi adolescencia fui Campeón Absoluto de La Palma de Ajedrez. Con el tiempo entendí que la constancia, la calma y el respeto por los tiempos también forman parte de mi manera de acompañar procesos terapéuticos.
- I also collaborate writing in elDiario.es — La Palma Now.
Writing has become another way for me to reflect on mental health, community, and the stories we go through as people. You can read some of my articles here: https://www.eldiario.es/autores/dario-garcia-rodriguez/
- Having lived and worked in different contexts taught me the importance of listening without taking anything for granted and understanding stories from different perspectives.
- I believe in a psychology that does not reduce anyone to a symptom, a label or a difficult moment, but rather helps them recover meaning, identity and hope.
“You are a landscape that changes without ceasing to be an island.”

BOOK
The wound does not tell everything
A book by Darío García Rodríguez based on the R.A.I.Z. Method, the narrative map from which we work at La Palma Psicología to accompany people to understand their history with more clarity, compassion and breadth.
From a perspective linked to territory, memory and island identity, this book invites us to recognize that a wound can be part of our history without completely defining it.
Every story has wounds, but also roots, landscape and horizon.
Launching in January 2027
I am a member of AETEN, the Spanish Association of Narrative Therapy, a membership that perfectly represents how I understand this profession: with respect for lived experience, attention to language, and confidence in people’s ability to rebuild their relationship with their own history.
There are also experiences that, over time, end up leaving their mark on how one accompanies other people. In my adolescence I was Absolute Champion of La Palma de Ajedrez, and I lived it as a recognition of perseverance, temperance and clarity.
Today I recognize those same values in my way of being with those I accompany: listening calmly, respecting the rhythms and trusting the timing of each process.
