Hello, I'm Lucía Sánchez
Welcome to La Palma Psicología, where understanding meets empathy, and knowledge intertwines with human warmth. I am Lucía, and I invite you to learn about the story of my professional career, a journey of continuous learning and dedication.
My passion for Psychology and Biomedicine took academic form at the University of La Laguna, transforming into degrees and a master’s that became the foundation of my practice. On the other hand, the relevance that workplace well-being has gained in recent years led me to delve into Human Resources Management.
I have navigated through significant challenges, beginning my career in NGOs located in the United Kingdom and Spain, traversing the educational field and psychosocial support for families, up to providing psychological support during the volcanic eruption. In each of these scenarios, I have had the honour of developing my resilience, perseverance, and self-determination skills, wishing to pass on this learning to those who are willing.
I have listened to and told stories, working alongside young people with various intellectual abilities, highlighting everything they are capable of and redefining their self-perception in a world that often presents limitations.
I have been involved in the study and support of active ageing and cognitive stimulation, passionately advocating that it is possible to age differently.
The immensity of the molecular, the chemistry of biological processes, and cellular physiology will remain present in my studies, helping me understand those great unknowns that accompany us wherever we go: hormones. How many questions are answered about infertility, perimenopause, and menopause!
On the other hand, with a great interest in understanding the processes of grief and trauma, I have continued to expand my knowledge through training and practice.
Mastering Spanish and English, I have forged connections between diverse cultures, collaborating with international teams and enriching my therapeutic approach with a wide range of perspectives and experiences.
In this place, a new chapter of my professional story as a psychologist opens. One that I hope to write alongside you, integrating my experience, passion, and narrative approach in psychology to contribute to your well-being and that of our society.
I invite you to explore, learn, and connect.
Together we can discover the paths towards self-awareness, understanding, and serenity.
